Welcome

Hi! I’m Nikki, a licensed psychotherapist with experience working in the field of mental health since 2015, including as a clinical director for a mental health nonprofit. I am naturally empathic and supportive and have a sense of humor that clients appreciate. I am always striving to gain resilience, meaning, and wisdom from my own experiences of loss and transition, from my journey as a parent, and in my marriage of seventeen years. Twice daily, I practice Transcendental Meditation, which provides inner clarity, keeping me centered and grounded in this beautiful yet turbulent world.

I provide Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) incorporated with mindfulness. CBT includes working with the connection of our thoughts, behaviors, and emotions. This involves identifying unhelpful thoughts and replacing them with thinking that is more effective for feeling better and taking actions aligned with our values. I help people to take manageable action-steps, such as increasing boundary-setting, assertiveness, and communication skills. Interwoven throughout this approach is mindfulness, which includes practice in receiving the present moment with openness, so we can respond to life from a place of inner balance and nourishment, rather than ego or fear.

I have experience helping adults with a wide range of issues, including stress and anxiety, communication issues, family conflicts, parenting issues, motivation, self-esteem, confidence, and coping with life changes. Clients describe my approach as warm, helpful, and empowering. I believe that everyone has the capacity for personal growth and change.

I am affirming of individuals from the LGBTQIA+ community and strive to be humble and self-reflective around intersections of culture, ethnicity, race, sexuality, gender, and language.
