Welcome.  I offer 12 weeks of solution-focused therapy for depression, anxiety, and addictions.  Using this approach, I can help you to, 1) increase awareness of what you want to be different, 2) uncover what you are doing when things are working, and 3) what you can do differently to accomplish the change you are seeking.

To get started with solution-focused therapy, contact me through email Nikki.H.Therapy(at)gmail.com or phone (510) 387-1722. My office is located at 2940 Summit St, Suite 2D, Oakland, CA 94609. Parking is conveniently located behind the building.

I welcome and embrace the diversity of the Bay Area and the LGBTQ+ community.

Each week, I will introduce you to a new technique for calming the nervous system and assessing energy.  Examples include breathing exercises, guided meditation, and some gentle movement.  Spending a few minutes in session on these can be a powerful way to challenge yourself and try new habits for creating positive change.

A typical session will also include noticing incremental changes from last session, highlighting exceptions (times the problem did not occur or was less severe), building on personal strengths and uncovering potential hidden resources, increasing relational strengths, outlining your goals, and committing to an incremental change for the following week.

I work using solution-focused therapy because it is an evidenced-based approach that highlights well-being rather than pathology.  I believe you are already capable and whole, and that my role is to help you to clarity your goals and use your inner strengths to get there.
